Safety & durability performance fabrics have highly improved in construction the last couple of years. In this edition we are highlighting Nylon and Polyester blends.
These fabrics are engineered for tough sportswear and safety gear. As an add-on to some aspects, such as its elasticity, lightness, durability and strength, most materials have additional elastane in their composistion to improve comfort and performance. Others have sustainable and innovative constructions.
When it comes to blended fabrics, especially with elastane, the circular “Closed Loop” process is no longer possible as it is for mono component textiles. Here it is even more important to reconsider design aspects from the beginning and develop long life products that are reusable, for rent or repairable.
This challenge is giving rise to a new relationship between brands and their products by putting a greater focus on reuse and resale of their higher quality fabrics and garments.
